Yesterday I was forced into going to a Mothers' Circle Shabbat dinner. That means that there was a Shabbat dinner at our temple in honor of all the mothers who were not Jewish but were raising their kids Jewish. Lucky for us, my mom happens to be a Christian very much in support of Judaism. So we got dressed up in our poofy coats and piled into the car.
It started off alright. There was a rabbi who lectured us about the importance of lighting sabbath candles, something every Jew and actually a lot of non-Jews know. Almost everybody there knew anyway because it was mostly Jewish families of the non-Jewish mothers.
So. We were being lectured and all of a sudden there was this loud beeping sound and a flash of blue-white light.
The fire alarm!
Austin and I got up and out of there as fast as we could, but all the adults were slow on the uptake.
"What's that noise?"
"I think it's the fire alarm."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Well, what should we do?"
"I guess we'd better get going."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Hmm."
"Well."
Soon everyone was outside freezing their feet off and cursing because the noise was so annoying. After 20 minutes of waiting, the fire truck FINALLY arrrived. 20 minutes! At least! Luckily, there hadn't been a fire, or else the Temple probably would've collapsed. I mean, seriously, 20 miuntes??? The station is 2 minutes away!!
We all went back to eating our dinner.

hahahah! i guess fire drills really do help...
to respond to your other posts that i had not responded to before: i can't wait for snow to come. i think it's okay to be open with other guys, as long you know you're not doing anything more. and about being completely depressed. it happens to me too. i don't know... sometimes things just don't seem to be enough, or i don't seem to enough for everyone else and the world, and i wallow in my ball of depression. i don't know what it is.
Hahahaha~ That's hilarious (in the aftermath, anyway... it might not've seemed as funny at the time)!
Although, a "flash of blue-white light"? You all must have interesting fire alarm systems XD
