Cuatro Candelikas

We're about halfway through Hannukah already! I'll be sad to see it go, but at least it means Christmas is on the way!

The following is an excerpt from my novel. Keep in mind that I wasn't writing to please, just to get words down on paper. So it is less than my standards would normally call for. Happy Hannukah!

Prologue

An eerie light was glowing from the windows of 868 Bankwell St. Outside, cars were parked on the side of the road, each seeming to rock back and forth on silent haunches, as if afraid. Melinda watched the shade shudder from her own abode across the street and then she heard a scream. The light went out.
