A cold, toxic water rose steadily within the heart of a young man, gushing forth from ventricles and piercing the lungs with a foamy pin. He was drowning- being sucked under by a mighty chaos- a formidable, godlike power. Sea salt rushed into his nose, clogging his mouth, as he struggled against the tug of the whirlpool...
Ahab's pencil clattered to the floor as he reached out, gripping the sides of his desk and gasping for breath.
"Are you alright?" Mr. Mann, ever the concerned teacher, was standing over him, coffee clutched in hand.
Ahab took a deep breath and massaged his throat, as if to make sure the seawater had gone.
"I'm fine." He reached down and picked up his pencil. "Just daydreaming."
"You looked like you were seizing or something."
"No, I'm fine."
"Hmm." Mann moved towards his desk. "Well, you only have ten more minutes before that quiz is due."
"Right." Ahab's hand trembled slightly as he tried to think of something to write. This was the third time this week he'd had that vision- the overwhelming sensory overload that left him choking always. Why was he drowning? Every single time- sometimes there were shouts of other men beside him, or the groan of something insidious beneath- but always it came back to that same torturous surrender to the ocean.
He'd never had a bad encounter with water all his life. He'd never even been to teh beach. it simply made no sense.
The smell of coffee permeated throughout the room, along with- was that the stench of dead fish?
Ahab shook his head to clear it and then refocused on the quiz paper in front of him.
Question 1. What was the name of the white whale?

The lyrics is not the lyrics of the Anthem.
We have a Himnusz (Anthem) which was the first video. We have Szózat, which is not our anthem but it has the same rank and it is played on every holiday and we have the Nemzeti Dal (National Song) which is usually played only on 15th of March.
And no, it was not you.
By the way I found a version of the national song.

Ohh... so I'm thinking the kid has some sort of psychic ability (which helped his subconscious effectively discern the question he would see) but has a power to enforce that concept and make it so that he is drawn into the dimension that would answer the premonition.
It's kind of hard to explain. Have you read "The Eyre Affair" by Jasper Fforde? Because if you haven't, that's where the second idea came from. Sort of... The jump between literature and real life, anyway.
Highly intriguing plot segment, all the same.
Haha, not what I was thinking of at all, but it works better. Mine was that he was sort of some incarnation of Ahab and that the memories were so powerful that they were engulfing him. The quiz was supposed to be a coincidence. But I wrote it as sort of a convoluded review of Moby Dick, which we had just read in English.
Oh, I see~ That's pretty cool too. Maybe the factors happening around him are inducing his memories of a life before reincarnation to return :D How exciting... the possibilities!
